December 22, 2008: My wife woke me up this morning saying that the sump pump was running and wouldn't shut off. I checked it out and the outside pipe had frozen. Cable guy adjusted the pipe and caused a backup. It came out easily, but I was worried about the installation of the new one, which was shorter. Turns out, I had a piece of pipe that was exactly the right size. It went back together without a hitch.
For that, I am truly thankful.
